Craniosacral Therapy

Craniosacral Therapy (CST) is a gentle, hands-on approach that supports your body’s natural ability to restore balance and heal. Developed in the early 1900s, CST works with the rhythms of the craniosacral system—the membranes and fluids surrounding the brain and spinal cord—that influence how we hold tension, process stress, and experience wellbeing.

Like the heartbeat or breath, the craniosacral system has its own rhythm. When life events such as illness, medication, accidents, trauma, birth experiences, or ongoing stress disrupt this rhythm, the body can hold patterns of tension that affect both physical and emotional health. These patterns often operate beneath our awareness but can shape how safe, connected, and resilient we feel in our everyday lives.

Craniosacral Therapy is not just about easing symptoms—it’s about reconnecting with your body’s own wisdom and vitality.

This work is for people of all ages who long to feel different in their bodies, their lives, and their relationships. It’s about meeting yourself with compassion, understanding why things were the way they were, and discovering that change is possible.

My Approach

With over 20 years of full-time practice, I bring together CST with complementary trauma-informed approaches such as Identity-Oriented Psychotrauma Therapy (IoPT) and Focusing which are body-based methods that help untangle unconscious stress patterns and give voice to the parts of us that never had words.

CST for Adults

Many people come to CST when they feel “stuck” and haven’t found relief through other approaches. Old stress, unresolved trauma, or early overwhelming experiences can live on in the body, resurfacing when triggered.

By gently meeting the places that have been holding old stress, CST can be beneficial with problems such as:

  • Chronic Tension & Pain

  • Stress & Anxiety

  • Sleep & Digestive Issues

  • Mental Health & Trauma

  • Disconnected Relationships

Craniosacral Therapy is not just about easing symptoms—it’s about reconnecting with your body’s own wisdom and vitality.

CST for Toddlers and Children

Children can carry the traces of their womb time and the physiological impact of their birth in their bodies.

At this age important brain development in the areas of linking experience with language can bring up repressed  birth and bonding fearful emotions locked into the body. These may be confused with ‘temper tantrums’ or the terrible twos’.

Falls, injuries, in their early years may cause an ‘over reaction’ stemming from their unique birth stressors.

TRANSITIONS such as waking, sleeping, going to crèche and child minders can seem like separation anxiety in the here and now and stem back from birth transitions such as C-SECTIONS both planned sections and emergency sections.

Inductions and birth interventions like forceps and suction can feel like pressure in the autonomic nervous system and experienced memory of transitioning to the infant’s first breath and bonding interruptions.

Relational Craniosacral Therapy supports children and parents by pin pointing the root cause of the issue and supporting the full expression of withheld memories by releasing body/mind tension allowing the nervous system to recalibrate and rebalance.
CST is particularly helpful with issues such as:

  • Emotional and behavioural challenges
  • Poor sleep
  • Effects of relational unprocessed unknown birth  trauma
  • Sibling  rivalry, parent preference
  • Digestive issues, ear infections, immune system weakness

My trauma informed approach allows me to work with parents and  children with great sensitivity, meeting the needs of their still developing nervous system while explaining in depth what is going on and how to support at home after the sessions.

Relational Craniosacral Therapy – Bringing Clarity to Your Baby’s Birth Story

A baby’s early experiences don’t begin at birth — they begin at conception, unfold through womb time, and are shaped within the relational field of their mother. Sometimes, what a baby carries is not only their own experience, but echoes of their mother’s — and even their grandmother’s — unresolved story.

In my work, I support both mother and baby together. We gently explore the mother’s story alongside the baby’s experience of conception, pregnancy, and birth. This relational approach helps us understand how early imprints may be showing up in your baby’s behaviour — whether as unsettledness, difficulty feeding, sleep challenges, or a sense that their needs are hard to soothe.

At its heart, relational craniosacral therapy offers a gentle, respectful way to listen to your baby’s story — and to yours — so both can move forward with greater freedom and integration.
