Reparenting Ourselves

Raising Our Children

An 8-Week Journey into Connected, Conscious Parenting Focusing Course for Parents

The relationship you have with yourself shapes the relationship you have with your child.

Every child invites us into moments of joy, wonder, frustration, overwhelm and deep love. Often, the situations that challenge us most are not simply about our child’s behaviour—they are invitations to discover something within ourselves that is asking to be seen, understood and cared for.

This eight-week course offers a gentle, practical and compassionate approach to parenting that begins with you.

Rather than asking, “How do I change my child?” we begin with a different question:

“What is happening in me, and how can I stay present to both myself and my child at the same time?”

As we learn to welcome our own emotions, triggers and unmet needs with kindness, we naturally become more emotionally available to our children. We move from reacting to responding, from controlling to connecting, and from fixing behaviour to understanding what it is communicating.

Throughout the course we explore:

How can I stay present when my child is struggling?

Learn simple embodied practices that help you pause, regulate and remain emotionally available during difficult moments.

What are my child’s behaviours trying to communicate?

Understand behaviour as communication and learn to recognise the needs, feelings and developmental stages that sit beneath challenging behaviour.

What happens when my child triggers me?

Discover how your child’s reactions can awaken your own early experiences, offering opportunities for healing, greater self-awareness and personal growth.

How can I care for myself while caring for my child?

Develop greater self-compassion, emotional resilience and practical ways of meeting your own needs without guilt.

How do I respond rather than react?

Learn how slowing down creates space for thoughtful, connected responses that strengthen trust and emotional safety.

How do I communicate in ways that build connection?

Explore needs-based communication that helps children feel heard, respected and understood while maintaining healthy, age-appropriate boundaries.

My Approach

This is not a parenting course built around rewards, consequences or behaviour management. Instead, it is an experiential journey that helps you understand what happens inside both you and your child during everyday interactions.

Each week combines gentle teaching, guided self-reflection, embodied Focusing practices, real-life parenting examples and opportunities to explore your own experiences in a warm and supportive community.

You will learn to:

As you become more able to accompany your own inner world with kindness, you also become more able to accompany your child’s.

Parenting becomes less about getting it right and more about growing together.

Core Framework

Pause → Sense → Listen → Differentiate → Accompany → Connect → Respond

And the relational framework I would make central to the course:

My Inside Place → Your Inside Place → The Space Between Us

This builds naturally on the resource’s emphasis on bodily awareness, felt sense and inner wisdom
while bringing it into the parent-child relationship.
